I graduated from Oberlin College in the Spring of 2008 with a degree in environmental studies. I've had some great experiences interning at places like GreenCityBlueLake Institute, Environmental Defense, CityWheels Cleveland, and Tri-C's Green Academy. Now I'm working at a great non-profit called Building Cleveland by Design. I started GreenLight with Emma in 2007 and love working on the zine and related projects like the website and talking to school groups about sustainability! I also like crafting with repurposed materials, most shows on Bravo (don't judge), and building forts (snow or blankets, it doesn't matter).
Emma Bishop
Emma grew up (partly) in south Florida, where environmental issues are on just about everyone's mind- think Everglades, crocodiles, Florida panthers, sinkholes and so on. Here, she found her love of all things oceanic and became increasingly frustrated that condos and Disney come before swamps and lizards in some peoples' hearts. She is determined to do what she can to change that. She went to college at Oberlin with Lora and was there at the birth of GreenLight, just over a year ago. For the first year, she worked with Lora on planning, writing for, and publishing GreenLight. Emma now lives in Seattle, WA (the sixth state she's lived in), which is awesome but very far away from the heart of GreenLight. She works in elementary schools and remains a contributing writer for GreenLight.
Elyse Perruchon
Likes trees, food, and adventures. I went to Oberlin and majored in Biology and Environmental Studies. I'm an environmental scientist for a living. I want to be a sustainable small farmer. I would like to be friends with everyone in Cleveland who is a part of the environmental and social movement toward sustainability and peace. Love.
Stephanie Trivison
From the sandboxes to the farm, I have always loved the outdoors. After reading The Legacy of Luna, I decided to do what I could reduce my daily consumption. I hope to help change the world one day at a time. I am a musician and am currently the singer/guitarist for Random Stereo. Support local music and environmental sustainability!

As Lora's best friend, Jen got sucked into GreenLight whether she liked it or not. Luckily, she doesn't seem to mind too much, but she's still too introverted to write her own biography. She just graduated from Case with a degree in cognitive science and is thinking about going to grad school for audiology. In terms of GreenLight, Jen writes awesome articles and creates great artwork. Her perfectionist tendencies make the zine look a lot better than it otherwise would. In her spare time, Jen likes writing songs and not letting her friends listen to them.

In May 2009, I will have a degree in Environmental Urban Studies, meaning to make that worth anything, I have to keep going to school. I don't know what or when my next educational move will be, but I do know there's a whole world out there, and I've only seen a tiny portion of it. I don't buy into the fact that you have to hold off exploring until you need a walker or your bladder can only hold urine for a maximum of 30 minutes, so I'm probably going to take this time to see some exciting things. Anyway, the economy went to shit, so why try and find a decent job when everyone is being laid off? Basically, I'm trying to see and do as much as I can, while minimizing exploitation in the process.

I grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland never really knowing how important my sustainability or creativity was to a decent sized city like Cleveland. But I am starting to realize one has to start small and build to accomplish anything, really. Seems like I am meeting individuals more often than ever who are willing to share what they have, inspire, or be inspired. Seems important that we as creatures on this planet work collectively by sharing our ideas with one another. I feel like everyone is capable of so much. Hopefully I can help contribute parts of myself to the growth of Greenlight- which is becoming an outstanding resource for Cleveland events, DIY projects, and the promotion of individuals doing cool things who deserve to be noticed!
