Instructables – Get in the Garden!

blondie 010.jpgIt’s time for our monthly review of instructables.com projects by Elyse!  These projects were entered for the “Get in the Garden Contest.”  Taken together, the projects I selected can provide you with food, furniture, and flowers!  First, I would plant a vertical garden.  This instructable is especially useful for city-dwellers who only have a porch or patio to garden on.  It’s easy to grow food from your apartment if you have a south-facing balcony.  Just follow the instructions and grow vertical!

Dave and Grass Couch 007.JPGAfter you start your vegetable garden, create a grass lawn chair so you can sit back and watch it grow!  This project requires hard material such as brick to shape your lawn chair, lots of soil, and sod or grass seed.  The only trouble I see with this chair is keeping it trimmed!  Oh, and watch out for ants in your pants!

I’ll be back with more projects in September.  In the meantime, if you find an awesome instructable, please share it with Greenlight! contact[at]greenlightzine[dot]org

Neat idea! I see shoe hangers in the trash all the time, but never had a use for them until now.
